Entries to the SGI Awards can be done online direct through this  website. You need to register with us before you can complete an online  nomination. Registration is by Invitation only and interested parties are  invited to contact the IEC office direct  if  they are interested in nominating or referring a person or company for the  awards.

Terms and conditions:
     
  1. All marketing campaigns entered have to have been       implemented between January 1 and December 31, 2011.
  2. The       competition is open to all those involved in the Sign and Graphic Imaging       Industry: Media companies; Advertising Agencies; Outdoor Companies; Suppliers;       Distributors; Advertisers and so forth. Nominations have to be entered with  the prior permission of the advertiser or owner of the rights of the media  solution.
  3. The Organizers of SGI Awards have  the full right to refuse any entry which might offend National or Religious  sentiments or Public taste.
  4. Only one party may enter an  advertisement (that is, an Agency, Advertiser or a Media company), to be agreed  in advance between the parties concerned. In the event that the same advert is  submitted by two different entrant companies, only the first entry will be  accepted. If different parts of the same campaign are submitted by both the  production company and the advertising agency, the first company to enter will  have the choice if it would like to submit the whole campaign as the entrant.
  5. The Awards Organizers may contact  the client related to any entry at the request of the Jury at any time during  the voting process should any questions about the implementation or  presentation of the work arise.
  6. An entry sent online will not be  considered complete until the corresponding material arrives at the IEC office  and payment is made via transfer to IEC.
  7. As per the local order 1986 of Dubai  Municipality, the below mentioned criteria has to be met by the entrants of the  awards:
  8. The  advertisement must not have any religious symbols or signs inconsistent to the rules  of the Islamic Sharia law
  9. The  advertisement must not contain any language or symbols containing any immoral  meanings
  10. Signage must  not mask certain public facilities, such as bus shelters, in order to promote  visibility and prevent offences and crimes
  11. All Entries must be submitted for  Judging exactly as they have been implemented and may not be modified for the  award entry.
  12. In category CA1, the organizers  reserve the right to request a full media schedule from each entrant's company  to verify the authenticity of the outdoor campaign.
  13. In category CA2, the technical  specification should provide proved references of use of environmentally  friendly power. For example: environmental friendly LED-tubes, combining  illumination with valuable savings in energy and carbon dioxide emission.
  14. In category CA3, signage must be  designed to promote quality townscapes and streetscapes and not have an adverse  impact on architecture of any buildings especially heritage buildings. The  colour, size and scale of the signage should not hinder the scenic quality of  the environment.
  15. In category CA4, the advertisement  wrap must be smartly handled, and reflect excellent aesthetic aspect. Advertisement  must not obscure visibility and must have a minimum of 60% transparency,  considering safety and security of users.
  16. In category CA5, the digital media  must complement local traffic and movement, and take into consideration safety,  visual perception and environmental impacts on the surrounding environment
  17. In the event of a complaint against  the winner of an award, the organizers will conduct a full investigation into  each case and request detailed documentation from all parties concerned,  including the complainant, the entrants and the client.
  18. The organizers will withdraw an  award in cases where the complaint is upheld.
